Tina, Where did you receive your hypnosis training?
I received my hypnosis training at the Alternative Practitioner Academy, Arlington Heights, IL USA
How did you first become interested in hypnosis?
I first became interested in the roles of the conscious and subconscious mind as a young woman seeking to understand myself and those around me. As a teenager, I was introduced to, learned and practiced meditation which was instrumental in opening new paths of understanding the mind, body and spirit. These new paths developed into a passion for understanding and mastering the mind and its role in creating our realities.
Using various techniques i.e. visualization, mantras, positive self-talk, I discovered the power of self-transformation. These techniques were effective, but the process was slow and too often there was resistance to change.
I decided to see a hypnotist to assist me in a small but challenging issue. The change was so immediate and so powerful; I was utterly amazed at the power of this technique.
I began using self-hypnosis to make more positive changes in my life. Through the use of hypnosis I was able to transform from a shy, reclusive person into an accomplished business woman, I became comfortable with public speaking, interacting with upper management, effectively managed my stress, and improved my relationships, to name just a few.
My true desire in life has always been to help people create better lives for themselves. So as my enthusiasm for hypnosis grew, I was filled with a need to share this remarkable modality for change with others. I decided to change my profession to become a Professional Certified Consulting Hypnotist.
What do you enjoy about being a hypnotist?
As a hypnotist I enjoy helping people find their own personal power and discover new ways of bringing about optimum health, inner peace, and happiness.
Have you experienced any other personal benefits from using hypnosis for yourself that you would care to share with our readers?
Through the use of hypnosis I was able to transform from a shy, reclusive person into an accomplished business woman, I became comfortable with public speaking, interacting with upper management, effectively managed my stress, and improved my relationships, personal strength and perseverance in completely changing my life to my new life in Montreal.
What is the most frequent misunderstanding about hypnosis that you encounter with clients or the public?
They seem to believe that hypnosis is something a hypnotist does to the client, when in fact, all hypnosis is self-hypnosis, and the client is always in control of what happens in the session and afterwards.
How would you rate the public acceptance of hypnosis/hypnotherapy in your region?
It is my opinion that the citizens of Montreal, are open minded, curious, and enjoy new experiences. They rate health and happiness as priorities in their lives. Once they understand the benefits and the creative approaches in using hypnosis, they find it amazingly easy and an enjoyable process.
Do you have any words of advice to potential clients?
One of my favorite quotes is by Albert Einstein; "“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions.” Allow yourself a new experience to change and learn skills that you will empower you for a lifetime. Never again will you feel helpless in changing something about yourself. Anything is possible!
