How to Become a Positive Thinker!

The power of positive thinking is the key to health happiness and success

Negative thinking can literally wear you down, block you off from success and happiness, and in some cases literally kill you. The power of positive thinking can reverse all these effects.

The above statement is no exaggeration. For example, The New York Times reported on a very large study in which researchers tracked the impacts of traditional beliefs for Chinese Americans.

Traditionally in Chinese culture each birth year is associated with one of five phases, and each phase is linked with an organ of the body and a disease symptom.

The study found that Chinese-Americans who developed a specific disease linked to their birth years seem to die one to five years prematurely compared to non-Chinese Americans who had no exposure to this belief system.

The Power of Positive Thinking and You

You may or may not be part of a traditional Chinese community but if you experience consistent negative thinking patterns then you do run the risk of holding yourself back from success and happiness in your life and not enjoying the best health that your body is capable of giving you.

What is Negative Thinking?

Negative Thinking is experienced in different ways for people. See if you experience one or more of these ways on a regular basis.

  • Perfection - if you are not perfect in some particular way then you consider yourself a failure.
  • Jumping to the wrong conclusions - If you fall off a bike the first day of learning to ride you tell yourself that you will always fall off and never be able to learn to ride.
  • When you consider that anything that happens has always to be about you.
  • When your mind is continually running negative “What if” scenarios.
  • When you have a general sense helplessness - feeling a victim of external events.
  • Blame – when you often find yourself blaming others or yourself.
  • When you live your life guided by what you “Should do” or in an effort to avoid feeling guilty.
  • When you have a driving need to always be right. Being wrong is just not an option for you.
  • You feel angry and/or bitter when you work hard, may be even sacrifice, but do not receive the reward you were aiming for.

Of course we can all think like this from time to time. But if one or more of these ways represent your typical way of thinking then it is time to consider change!

So many people who came to my hypnosis office would tell me that “I can't change my way of thinking, it is who I am” when I first met them.

Well the good news for them and you is that that really is not true. You were not born to think negatively and hamper your chances in life.

The way we think is not biologically or genetically programmed into us. It is something that we learn, that is conditioned into us; typically from our early years in life.

Benefits of Positive Thinking

People who do switch over to a more positive way of thinking enjoy a wide range of major benefits.

For example researchers have established the following health benefits enjoyed by people who think positively:

  • Increased life span
  • Lower rates of depression
  • Lower levels of distress
  • Greater resistance to the common cold
  • Better psychological and physical well-being
  • Reduced risk of death from cardiovascular disease
  • Better coping skills during hardships and times of stress.

Wouldn't you like to enjoy them too?

Benefits are not just related to health however. You have probable heard the old maxim, You tend to get what you focus on. Well, it turns out to be true.

Who do you think is going to enjoy more success in life. The person who tells themselves It's too complicated, or the one who automatically thinks, I'll go at this from another angle. The person who thinks, I'm not going to get any better at this, or the one who can think, I'll give it another try.

You get the picture. How you think will determine how successful and happy you will be as well as how healthy.

How to Think Positively

But how can I change my thinking you likely asking yourself now? Well not by willpower. Not by commanding yourself to “think positive.” You've probably tried that and know it doesn't work.

That's because you're not working at the level at which the problem exists. Of course people who are trapped in thinking negatively would like to change. You know how exhausting and off-putting negative thinking can be. But that is what is going through your mind at the conscious level.

Your thoughts are generated from the conditioning that your subconscious mind has received over the years. That is the part of your mind that learned to keep interpreting events and experiences in a negative light.

And that is where self hypnosis comes in. Hypnosis is a natural, safe and proven way to change your thoughts at a subconscious level. You can reprogram your subconscious mind over a short period of time while you are enjoying listening to a self hypnosis session.

And now you can do that for free! That's right. I believe that the more people that train themselves to think positively the better off everyone will be. So, you supply the effort of listening regularly to the free hypnosis sessions and I will supply those sessions!
