The above statement is no exaggeration. For example, The New York Times reported on a very large study in which researchers tracked the impacts of traditional beliefs for Chinese Americans.
Traditionally in Chinese culture each birth year is associated with one of five phases, and each phase is linked with an organ of the body and a disease symptom.
The study found that Chinese-Americans who developed a specific disease linked to their birth years seem to die one to five years prematurely compared to non-Chinese Americans who had no exposure to this belief system.
You may or may not be part of a traditional Chinese community but if you experience consistent negative thinking patterns then you do run the risk of holding yourself back from success and happiness in your life and not enjoying the best health that your body is capable of giving you.
